The problem with standard microwaves is that they cannot cook properly and only heat the food and so are fine for defrosting and re-heating but they are not capable of cooking.
And so it is a good job that there are combination microwave ovens that you can buy and these include a convection oven and so cook in just the same way that a standard kitchen oven would. And so you can cook any food that will fit into the combination microwave in just the same way that you would in an electric oven but the combination microwaves are much smaller and so take up much less space and are allot cheaper to buy.
The combination microwaves also have a grill and so can grill your food as well as cooking it and they so of course have the microwaving ability and so are also great for defrosting and re-heating. The grill is great as it allows you to crisp and brown your food and can be used with the convection oven to achieve this effect.
When you buy a combination microwave be sure to check the power and size as this will affect the amount of time that it takes to cook your food and how much food you can fit into the combination microwave.
